Wild Horse Daily Migration Study

Wild Horses in Nevada cause significant highway safety issues. Unfortunately, in many areas the wild horses tend to cross the highways particularly at night when drivers have difficulty seeing the animals. AAPG and the University of Nevada Reno believe that through the analysis of the wild horses environment using the multi-spectral camera on the GEO Mapper I UAIS that analyst may have the potential to determine the daily migration habits of the Wild Horses and through better understanding to make environmental changes to discourage the movement of the horses across the highways and to encourage the horses to remain in certain areas without fences.
